With a maximum altitude of 240 m above sea level, the Albesani vineyard, right in front of our winery, was assigned the MGA, Additional Geographical Mention in 2007: an important demonstration of the link between Neive and the tradition of Barbaresco.
The soil of the Albesani vineyard is rich in limestone, clay and silt. It is characterised by the presence of Sant’Agata Fossil Marl, a soil structure which, together with Diano Sandstone and the Lequio Formation, defines the geography of Barolo.
It enjoys south-westerly exposure, which is excellent for viticulture, because it provides greater coverage by sunlight and a higher quantity of sugars available for transformation into alcohol.
